Gabriel Piqué
Gabriel Piqué, 25, is a native of Augusta, Georgia. He holds performance degrees from the University of Georgia and Eastman School of Music and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree as a Graduate Fellow at the University of Illinois. Gabriel is an active soloist, giving performances and participating in competitions around the world. Most recently, he was the 1st Prize winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Solo Competition in 2016 and Semi-Finalist at the International Jean-Marie Londeix Saxophone Competition in Bangkok. His other accomplishments include performing with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, performing with the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble and being selected as a finalist for the “President’s Own” Marine Band position in 2013. Gabriel is also an active chamber musician, having been a part of the world renowned Eastman Saxophone Project for 2 years as well as the Fuego Saxophone Quartet, which won gold at the Plowman and Fischoff Chamber Music Competitions in 2017.
